Adhaan - Click here for soothing link that plays the Adhaan as sung by Yusef Islam.
This adhaan link
comes from audioquraan.com, a
site that also
has many other
favorite adhaans and Quranic verses
read/sung for
your spiritual
edification.
Nothing like
the adhaan to
get you feeling
all right again.
The links below will take you to Official Muslim sites.
WARNING: Clicking these links may take you to a serious Muslim site from

Hopefully you are not panicking because of the image we have used on this page.
it is a replica of a Mullah (minister) formed from clay. We do not in any way endorse
the bhuddification/idolizing of Mullahs. Eventually, we hope to install here a Flash animation of a Mullah
sitting in a mosque, the light coming in through those elegant arches,
counting off his rosary. Very calming and patient. Almost hypnotic.
But also very boring.
So instead, find some Muslim affirmation/Mullah endorsement for exploring subversive
ideas if there is one. Perhaps the Tailor's bath anecdote/question (a story from my Father's
childhood, serving tea to Muslim seminary students), or the "Just One Look"
defense
legitimizing the reading of this website (e.g., allegedly,
there is an Islamic
doctrine that the "First Look" at an object of sin is not a sin. It's the double-take or
second look that constitutes sin because at that point, you are aware of what you're doing.
We can illustrate
this with animation by showing our protagonist
Abdullah walking down a street. Here comes
Pamela Lee. His eyes bug open and they pass
each other. He keeps looking straight ahead.
This is not a sin.
Result: His bugged eyes are able to take in
his still unfolding reality. So he is able
to dodge traffic and live to see another first
look. Take 2: Ab and Pam pass each other.
His eyes bug, but then his whole body
swivels and then he follows mouth agape and
starts harassing the poor well-endowed dear.
That's a sin. Result: He never sees the car
that comes and flattens him.)
This is all
just a metaphor for it being OK to
look at blasphemy once, it is the pursuit
and harassment of blasphemy that will get you in trouble.
We're out asking FRIDAy prayer groups to ask Allah to guide our website link
