Here is a detail from a Women's Day poster
I got in Iran. The poster features the faceless women in the center. All around them are those
white circles like petals of a flower. In each circle is a soundbite that extolls the virtues of
"hijab" - female covering. One of them says: "hejAb - parchameh EslAm va zanAn parchamdArAn." Which means
hijab is the flag of Islam and women are the flagbearers. (Note on pronounciation: a capital "A" is the
long a as in Father, and a lowercase "a" is the short a as in cat.)
